European type-approval legislation dictates that all cars must have a rear foglamp, which must be fiited centrally or on the offside. Most cars have foglamps at both sides as a matter of course, but small cars (including Twingo) have a single foglight offside, with a single reversing lamp in the same position on the nearside. This means that British owners must add an additional lamp, which is normally fitted to the rear bumper.
The above picture
shows the Twingo (1992-1998) rear lamp units, with fog lamp at the left
and reversing lamp at the right. This is a British-owned Twingo with additional
bumper-mounted foglamp.
